There’s an exquisite ache in beginning Walden or, Life in the Woods. That could be because my heart belongs in nature and I currently live in the suburbs of city and nature has to be scrabbled after. I mean, we have squirrels and that’s fine but woods are hard to come by.
I had to read Walden for a college class. I wanted to love it. I didn't. I found Pilgrim at Tinker Creek by Annie Dillard to be more satisfying. I hope you find something in Walden to love, and if you do, please share it! :)
I know I've read excerpts from it but this is the first time I've read it in its entirety. It's different. Not at all what I expected. Half way through I can say that I don't hate it...we'll see what the final verdict its (hopefully by this Thursday!)
I've not read Pilgrim at Tinker Creek. Another one I've heard of forever but never actually experienced.
